Programs

Whether you're an artist or a patron of the arts, the Salt Spring Arts Council would love to connect with you.

We offer a series of programs that not only help individuals and groups pursue their artistic vision, but also promote that vision within our local community and schools.

ArtCraft & WinterCraft

Fostering the potential of Salt Spring artists—along with the island's rich cultural heritage—is one of the most important undertakings of the Salt Spring Arts Council. One of the ways we do this through our support of the internationally-recognized ArtCraft and WinterCraft shows each year.

Artist In The Class

The Artist In The Class program gives the arts a stronger presence in the everyday life of students by bringing Salt Spring Island artists into the schools to share their skills and create a deeper awareness of the arts in our community.

Easter Art Tour

The Arts Council runs a popular Easter Art Tour to promote visual artists living and working on Salt Spring Island. The Tour, held over the three days of Easter weekend each year, includes a feature exhibition at the historic Mahon Hall. Visitors then take a guided tour of participating artist's studios around the island. The Easter Art Tour is a special event which complements the permanent Studio Tour of artist/artisan studios.
